The Boston Red Sox are coming off a solid week, notching two series wins on the road.

First, the Red Sox took down the reigning World Series champion Texas Rangers, and then they bested a talented Kansas City Royals team that sits right alongside Boston battling for an American League wild card spot.

In sealing that first series against the Rangers, no one was as important as Wilyer Abreu, who recorded three homers over the three-game set. Following the news that his grandmother passed away on Saturday night, Abreu homered twice in Sunday's rubber match for his first multi-homer game.

Abreu was noticeably emotional on the field, receiving support from several of his teammates and coaches. After the game, he dedicated his performance to his late grandmother.
