Now the New England Patriots wait.

The Patriots have constructed the framework of a trade for San Francisco 49ers star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, according to a bombshell report from NBC Sports Bay Area's Mike Maiocco. San Francisco has agreed to New England's terms, an offer that likely would include veteran Kendrick Bourne and draft capital.

New England has also contacted Aiyuk's camp and extended a contract extension proposal, per the report. The 2020 first-round pick is set to play on his fifth-year option and has been seeking a contract extension. To this point, San Francisco has not been willing to meet Aiyuk's demands.

The Cleveland Browns reportedly have done the same as New England, creating a trade framework the 49ers have approved and extending a contract proposal to Aiyuk. The report hints Cleveland is New England's biggest competition.

The Browns, much like the Patriots, now wait on the player.

"Now it's up to Aiyuk to determine if he will accept the contract terms from either of those franchises," Maiocco wrote, citing sources.

The Washington Commanders and Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly had contract extension talks with Aiyuk, as well. However, neither Washington nor Pittsburgh seems to be in the running, per Maiocco.
