Matthew Judon is employing a new mindset with his new team.
Judon wanted a new contract from the Patriots, and he wasn't afraid to let his frustrations about the situation be known in New England. The star pass-rusher ultimately didn't have his wash granted by team brass, who traded him to Atlanta last week.
The Falcons didn't have an extension prepared for Judon when they acquired him, which led some to believe the four-time Pro Bowl selection could be bound for another round of turmoil in his new situation. But as Judon recently explained to the media, he will be focusing on playing good football in Atlanta, not his next payday.
"The Atlanta Falcons know nothing about me as a football player and about me as a man," Judon told reporters, per Sports Illustrated. "They really know my previous résumé. So, I can't really demand or ask for anything that I haven't worked for. And that's where I've been my whole life. So, I'm (going to) work for it, man."

Perhaps Judon made those comments knowing he might not be with the Falcons for long. The 32-year-old is on an expiring deal and Atlanta is all-in on the 2024 season, which positions Judon as a textbook rental player.
But if Judon shines in this campaign, he should be recognized for it via a nice contract in free agency.
