The Miami Dolphins are doing their best to navigate a quarterback conundrum, and their latest decision is somewhat surprising.
Tyler "Snoop" Huntley will start at quarterback Monday against the Tennessee Titans, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel announced Saturday.
"I think one thing that was supremely obvious to the team since he got here and even more so this practice week, is Snoop has started multiple big games," McDaniel said, per the Miami Herald. "Just understanding as a quarterback, what is required to win over teammates and take the place of somebody else and assert their own personality, their own skill set, their own traits within the offense and lead people.
Miami signed Huntley off the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad last week after Tua Tagovailoa was placed on injured reserve with a concussion. Skylar Thompson, the original choice to start in place of Tagovailoa, was forced out of last week's loss to the Seattle Seahawks with a rib injury.

Huntley started nine total games in his four seasons, all for the Ravens, and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2022 after starting four games in place of Lamar Jackson and helping to lead Baltimore to the playoffs.
The Dolphins' decision to roll with Huntley isn't surprising based on his talent, but the 26-year-old has only been in the building for a few weeks. Miami will have an extra day to get him ready, but if he can get out of Monday's matchup with the Titans, he'll be working on a short week to get ready for the New England Patriots in Week 5.
Mac Jones vs. New England seems to be dead in the water... for now.
