Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye experienced a little bit of everything when he took his first regular-season snaps in a 24-3 loss to the New York Jets on Thursday night.

Maye entered the game in garbage time with 4:24 left and the Week 3 verdict all but decided. He played the remainder of the contest and led a 16-play, 46-yard drive.

The Patriots opted to let the clock run out rather than take any points as Maye led the group into the red zone. Maye completed four of his eight passes for 22 yards with two sacks while under consistent pressure.

Maye nearly had his first pass intercepted when he telegraphed a throw to tight end Austin Hooper, who sat between two New York defenders on a curl route. Maye took a big hit from Jets linebacker Jamien Sherwood on third down and was sacked on an ensuring first down.

Maye's first completion was a screen to running back Antonio Gibson and he hit DeMario Douglas for a pair of completions. Maye also showed his mobility when he gained 11 yards on a fourth-and-8 scramble.

Jacoby Brissett finished the game 12-for-18 for 98 yards. Brissett took five sacks in the loss.
