Kyle Schwarber hits everywhere he goes in the major leagues. The Boston Red Sox saw that in 2021 and he continues to crush baseballs for the Philadelphia Phillies.
Beyond his big-moment postseason homers in recent season, Schwarber still does damage in the regular season. In 2024, he's given historic production out of the leadoff spot and made some history in that regard on Tuesday night.
Schwarber led off the game against the Tampa Bay Rays with a solo home run, his 14th leadoff shot of the season, to put the Phillies on top. That gives Schwarber the most single-season leadoff home runs in MLB history on his 35th blast of the season.
The Red Sox got a jolt to an already talented offense in 2021 when they acquired Schwarber from the Washington Nationals. He proceeded to hit seven home runs with a .957 OPS in 41 games for the Red Sox before slugging three more in the postseason when Boston reached the ALCS.

The Phillies, competing for the National League's top seed and a third straight trip to the NLCS, seek a series win over the Rays, who will face the Red Sox in six of the final 17 games of the season.
