Drake Maye made his NFL debut for the New England Patriots on Thursday night in a statement loss to the New York Jets.
After going 4-for-8 through the air for 22 yards in relief of Jacoby Brissett, Maye stuck around on the field for the chance to connect with Super Bowl XLV MVP and current Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The New England rookie clearly flattered the legendary veteran quarterback, as two different eras of the AFC East crossed paths at MetLife Stadium. Rodgers took time to highlight his interaction with the Patriots rookie after the conclusion of Week 4.
"I thought it was really cool that Drake stuck around to say hello," Rodgers shared on the "Pat McAfee Show" on Tuesday. "It's something I would have definitely done as a young player to some of the guys I loved watching growing up. ... That was really cool. I reached out to Drake on Instagram and told him I appreciated that. There's something about having that respect and deference that I just really appreciate."

Maye and Rodgers could share the field once again when the Jets visit the Patriots at Gillette Stadium on Oct. 27.
For now, the Jets host the Denver Broncos in Week 4 while the Patriots head west to visit the San Francisco 49ers.
