The Patriots silenced one of the NFL's best quarterbacks in their season-opening win last Sunday.
New England's stingy defense limited Joe Burrow to only 164 passing yards with no touchdowns at Cincinnati's Paycor Stadium. It marked only the third time since the start of the 2022 season that Burrow was held under 180 passing yards in a full contest.
Given how poor Burrow and the Bengals offense looked in Week 1, fans and media members alike wondered if the star signal-caller still was dealing with issues with his right wrist, which was surgically repaired to fix a season-ending injury last year. Folks online even thought they scoped out fourth-quarter scenes where Burrow was favoring the wrist on his throwing arm.
But while speaking with the media Wednesday, the 27-year-old assured his wrist did "absolutely not" affect his throwing against the Patriots. He also insisted it's "continually getting better" and explained why he was moving the wrist around quite a bit last weekend.

"That's part of ligament injuries," Burrow told reporters, per ESPN. "If you don't move it, you're going to lose it, so I'm always moving it around, keeping it loose, keeping my mobility the way it's supposed to be, so it's going to continue to happen."
Unfortunately for Burrow and company, they will meet a tough customer Sunday when they try to secure their first win of the season. Cincinnati will spend Week 2 in Kansas City, where the reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs will host a 2022 AFC Championship Game rematch.
