The New England Patriots started game week prep Monday, and they already have two key players to keep an eye on.

Head coach Jerod Mayo told reporters he didn't have an injury update on left tackle Vederian Lowe and guard Sidy Sow. Lowe suffered a groin injury late August, and Sow suffered an ankle injury in the preseason finale. Mayo revealed last week that Sow avoided a serious injury, but his status remains up in the air.

Sow admitted to reporters Monday he thought he suffered an Achilles injury, but after realizing his Achilles was intact, he knew it wasn't serious, per ESPN's Mike Reiss. He added he was "day-to-day" but didn't comment on his status for Week 1, per the Boston Herald's Andrew Callahan.

Lowe was present at practice but had limited participation during the media session, and Sow was the lone absence, per CLNS' Mike Kadlick.

With Week 1 on its way this Sunday, Patriots fans should expect official injury reports. Lowe and Sow are part of a shaky offensive line, but their absences would be felt, especially the 2023 fourth-round pick since he's one of the few reliable options.
