The Panthers suffered their second straight blowout loss Sunday, but Dave Canales after the Week 2 game still stressed "Bryce (Young) is our quarterback."

Less than 24 hours later, that statement was proven to be false.

Multiple reporters early Monday afternoon revealed Carolina will replace Young with Andy Dalton ahead of its Week 3 road matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders. Young, the first overall pick in last year's NFL draft, was limited to a combined 245 passing yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions in the Panthers' first two contests.

Benching Young was a terrible look for Carolina, which traded two first-round picks, a pair of second-rounders and star wide receiver D.J. Moore to the Chicago Bears to select the Alabama product. To make matters worse for the Panthers, the Houston Texans selected C.J. Stroud at No. 2 overall last year, and the Ohio State product already has gained superstar status after winning 2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year and earning a Pro Bowl nod in his debut campaign.

Dalton, who has been with the Panthers since March of last year, hasn't started an NFL game since Week 3 of the 2023 season. But he boasts a bevy of experience in the league, logging 163 starts since his rookie season with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2011.
