Jacoby Brissett did not turn the ball over during the first three games of the season, but the New England Patriots quarterback made a costly mistake against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
San Francisco star linebacker Fred Warner intercepted a telegraphed Brissett pass and returned it 45 yards for a pick-six. Brissett targeted wide receiver Tyquan Thornton on the play, but had a pair of open receivers including DeMario Douglas.
The play extended San Fran's advantage to 13-0 with 14:01 left in the first half. It marked a second consecutive drive that ended in a turnover after a fumble by Rhamondre Stevenson.
Given the position Brissett is in as the veteran ahead of rookie quarterback Drake Maye, the reaction from New England fans wasn't all too surprising.

Brissett had not done anything to lose the starting job through three games. But Brissett's first half against the Niners on Sunday showed he hasn't done much to keep it either.
