The Patriots didn't get much out of their receivers in Week 2, but there was a positive development for one wideout.

Ja'Lynn Polk played 60% of offensive snaps in New England's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. That was up from 54% in his season debut, and his Sunday was highlighted by his first touchdown catch when he hauled in a 5-yard pass from Jacoby Brissett.

New England released a mic'd-up version of the touchdown that showed skill development and return coach Troy Brown asking the rookie if it was his first score. Polk then revealed a fact that fans will enjoy.

"That's my OG. It's my dad's birthday today," Polk told his teammates and coaches as he waved to his father, per a Patriots video.

Cornerbacks coach Mike Pellegrino and wide receivers coach Tyler Hughes also went up to Polk to congratulate the Washington product on his touchdown grab.

The rest of Polk's day didn't live up to his highlight. The 22-year-old finished the game with two receptions for 12 yards off three targets. Brissett and Jerod Mayo admitted they each needed to do more to bring more explosiveness to the offense.
