Wilson is a healthy scratch after the fourth-year cornerback struggled in each of the first two games this season. Wilson was assessed a costly pass interference penalty against the Seattle Seahawks and was a dud in the season-opening win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Cornerbacks Alex Austin and rookie Marcellas Dial Jr. will serve as the top backups behind Christian Gonzalez, Jonathan Jones and Marcus Jones.
Patriots linebacker Joe Giles-Harris was elevated to New England's active roster. Giles-Harris will provide some depth with defensive captain Ja'Whaun Bentley ruled out Wednesday. Bentley, the team's leading tackler each of the last three seasons, reportedly suffered a season-ending pec injury.

The Patriots on Wednesday also ruled out left tackle Vederian Lowe, guard Sidy Sow and edge rusher Oshane Ximines. Sow has missed three straight games while Ximines was placed on injured reserve.
Patriots rookie Caedan Wallace is expected to serve as New England's starting left tackle in place of Lowe. Wallace will be the third starting left tackle in as a many games for the Patriots. Michael Jordan has replaced Sow at left guard each of the first two contests, and figures to do the same against the Jets.
Kickoff from MetLife Stadium is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET.
