Ford Final Five Facts: Bruins Youth Movement Overtakes Devils

After a very successful inaugural season, PWHL Boston will vie for a similarly fruitful sophomore campaign with a new brand.

The PWHL on Monday morning reintroduced its Original Six franchises, each with a new team name. Hilary Knight and company now will be called the Boston Fleet and will compete with Victoire de Montreal, New York Sirens, Ottawa Charge, Toronto Sceptres and the reigning Walter Cup champion Minnesota Frost.

With the new team name came a new franchise logo, which last season's Walter Cup runner-up explained in a post to X.

"The forward-leaning shape of the logo evokes a sail catching wind, representing momentum and a relentless drive for success," the post read. "The bold 'B' combined with a sideways anchor symbolizes Boston's rich maritime history and the enduring strength, unity and collective might of Boston's players and fans. The wave pattern within the emblem adds depth and texture, reflecting the dynamic energy of the ocean and the team's steadfast resilience."
