The Boston Red Sox had their own home run show at Fenway Park on Monday night to smash the Baltimore Orioles in a 12-3 victory.
Rob Refsnyder and Tyler O'Neill led that show and did so in rather historic fashion. The duo hit back-to-back home runs for the Red Sox in both the third and eighth innings to power the offense.
That's obviously not a usual occurrence in the sport and certainly not a common trend in Red Sox history. In fact, it's just the second time two Boston hitters combined to hit a pair of back-to-back homers in a game.
Boston last pulled off the feat in 1994 when Mo Vaughn and Tim Naehring did so in the second and sixth innings, per Red Sox PR and Elias. The homers led to Boston's 13-5 win over the Oakland Athletics.

Refsnyder hit his 10th and 11th home runs of the season, while O'Neill left the yard for the 28th and 29th time this season. O'Neill further etched his name in the history books for the Red Sox, tying Manny Ramirez and Jim Rice for the third-most multi-homer games in a season with seven.
Boston earned a crucial win to start the three-game set with the chance to win the series on Tuesday.
