BOSTON -- Red Sox manager Alex Cora said the club would do everything in their power to make sure a game was played Saturday.

Mother Nature had other ideas.

Boston announced that its game scheduled for Saturday against the Minnesota Twins was postponed due to a forecast of continued rain showers in the area around Fenway Park.

The Red Sox and Twins will play a rescheduled game as part of a split doubleheader on Sunday, with the originally scheduled game beginning at 12:35 p.m. ET and the postponed game beginning at 5:35 p.m. ET. Bostonians and Minnesotans alike will be glad to hear that tickets for Saturday's game will be good for admission to the rescheduled contest.
