BOSTON -- Red Sox outfielder Rob Refsnyder had been in a slump at the plate, with just two hits in his last seven at-bats. That all changed when the 33-year-old had a perfect night at the plate in Boston's 12-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park on Monday.

"A lot of people behind the scenes have been helping me," Refsnyder said after the win. "I've been freaking so bad, so it's been a grind. It's been a lot of frustrating nights."

Refsnyder went 4-for-4 from the plate with two home runs, two singles, a double and a walk. He set a career-high with five RBIs and matched his career-high in hits, extra-base hits and times on base. It was his second multi-home run of the season and fourth of his career. Even though he was the one swinging the bat, Refsnyder didn't take all the credit for his performance against the Orioles.

"A lot of credit to the hitting department," Refsnyder said. "They've stayed up countless hours trying to help me out, figure some stuff out. So, it felt really, really good to kind of breakthrough. It's been just super frustrating. (...) It's been a grind. A lot of credit to a lot of different people."

The Red Sox scored 12 runs on 15 hits, with each batter except Jarren Duran and Danny Jansen recording at least one hit. Even though Duran went hitless in the game, Refsnyder expressed his gratitude for his teammate after the game.

"I've known Jarren the longest out of all these guys," Refsnyder explained. "Spring training, Triple-A Worcester, he's seen my swing really bad, really good. He kind of just pulled me aside. Talked about what he was seeing. Giving pointers and things like that. Just trying to keep me in a positive state of mind.

Refnsyder added: "Jarren, behind the scenes, really just helping me out. Jarren is one of our leaders. Him and Raffy for sure. So it was great to have somebody like Jarren keep me going."
