The Bruins will kickstart their first true roadie of the season Wednesday, traveling out west to take on the Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena.
Boston will introduce a couple new faces into the lineup, with Max Jones and Riley Tufte both being added for Justin Brazeau and Morgan Geekie. Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery will use those two new faces to throw a wrench in the entire lineup.
Trent Frederic will move up to the top line, where he’ll play alongside Brad Marchand and Charlie Coyle in an effort to provide more scoring punch. Matthew Poitras — without the two big bodies in Frederic and Brazeau — will center the two additions on the fourth line.
John Beecher, Mark Kastelic and Cole Koepke have been the Black and Gold’s best group thus far, and will be rewarded with more ice time Wednesday.
The Bruins and Avalanche are scheduled to drop the puck at 9:30 p.m. ET, though it’s expected things will be pushed back due to TNT televising game. Boston will return to NESN on Saturday.
