BOSTON — Bruins captain Brad Marchand has never had trouble leaving an impression on people.
It’s important to note that we didn’t say it was always a “good” impression, but an impression nontheless.
Marchand is a multi-time winner of the “Which player do you least enjoy playing against, but would like to have on your team?” recognition in the annual NHLPA survey. Ryan Callahan got licked by the guy. Pat Maroon hated him, but grew to love the four-time All-Star when they eventually became teammates.
The Bruins have seen many players come and go over the last two decades, but one thing that remains consistent is the fast impression the captain is able to leave on those who walk through the locker room doors at 100 Legends Way.
“He’s had a really good career,” Bruins newcomer Elias Lindholm said following Saturday’s win over the Los Angeles Kings. “He’s one of the biggest competitors I’ve seen, practice, games, whatever. It’s huge for people to see that. He wears the ‘C’ for a reason, and I couldn’t think of a better guy to do it.”
