Bruins’ Nikita Zadorov Latest Newcomer To Flip On TD Garden

Zadorov used to 'hate' playing in Boston

Boston isn’t exactly known as the most welcoming city in hockey, is it?

The Bruins are probably thrilled with that fact, as TD Garden has built a reputation for itself as a place opposing players do not want to play.

Pat Maroon admitted he didn’t enjoy playing in Boston, though things changed when he was able to call Causeway Street home following a trade last season. Garnet Hathaway, Tyler Bertuzzi and Hampus Lindholm have all agreed to similar viewpoints, with Nikita Zadorov joining them after playing in his first home game in the Black and Gold on Thursday.

“The fans are awesome,” Zadorov said, per team-provided video. “It’s great. I used to hate playing here, but now it’s my home. I’m enjoying that. It’s been a long summer for them, so it for sure was exciting.”

Zadorov signed a six-year, $30 million deal this past offseason, so he’s got plenty more home games to enjoy at TD Garden.
