ONE BIG TAKEAWAY
Nashville struck first and second, and Boston had no response for the Predators whatsoever throughout the night.

By the time the Predators had taken a 2-0 lead into the third period, all the Bruins had to show for it was 23 shots on goal with all the pressure applied to Boston goalie Jeremy Swayman. Nashville attacked Swayman with 31 shots through the first 40 minutes of the contest.

The Bruins extended their league-leading minor penalties to 40 infractions by committing six in the game. The Predators capitalized on Boston’s miscues by tallying their first goal while Max Jones was in the sin bin for tripping Nashville defenseman Alexandre Carrier while the Bruins were in the offensive zone.

The Predators extended their lead with just over four minutes to play in the second period when Tommy Novak beat Swayman for his third goal of the season as Charlie McAvoy was exiting the penalty box after serving a four-minute double minor for high-sticking Steven Stamkos.
