New Jersey Devils winger Erik Haula dropped the gloves and blew a kiss to the opposing crowd in celebration of his win.
Haula and Vancouver Canucks forward Conor Garland fought right off a second-period faceoff at Rogers Arena on Wednesday night. The scrap took place during a three-goal period for Haula and company en route to a 6-0 win.
The former Bruin clearly got the better of Garland with a flurry of right-handed haymakers and jabs. A late second effort from Garland wasn’t enough to prevent him from going to the ice first.
Haula was voted the winner with a landslide 85% of the votes on HockeyFights.com.
Canucks raucously booed Haula when he was shown in the penalty box on the jumbotron. The 33-year-old forward, who played one season with Boston, responded by blowing a kiss to those in attendance.
