The Los Angeles Dodgers returned to the City of Angels on Thursday morning with the World Series trophy in hand, apparently getting a lift from … the Patriots?

Fresh off Wednesday night’s thrilling Game 5 victory that claimed LA its second world title since 2020, the Dodgers made the cross-country flight from New York City after sending the Yankees packing. When the Dodgers touched down at LAX, they did so in the New England Patriots’ plane.

“What in the world is happening?” a very confused KTLA5 anchor wondered as the network caught the scene unfolding.

At one point, another confused anchor pointed “Bill Belichick wasn’t (using it) today,” and another replied “The Patriots haven’t won a championship in a while.” Harsh but true.

Not even TMZ Sports had cracked the case as of lunchtime on the East Coast, but the presumption is the Patriots offered up the plane to help the Dodgers get back home as quickly as they could. As seen on other live streams of the return, the Dodgers’ families appeared to return on a separate plane, one that didn’t belong to New England.
