Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets added another pass-catching weapon in star wide receiver Davante Adams, but Gang Green still has a long way to go after its first six weeks.
The 2-4 Jets sit in third place in the AFC East and currently have a 55% chance of making the playoffs, per NFL.com.
NESN’s Travis Thomas believes that’s far too favorable for the Jets, despite the obvious boost Adams will bring to an offense that ranks in the bottom half of the league in points and total yards. On the latest episode of NESN’s “Boston Has Enter The Chat,” Thomas and co-host George Balekji didn’t see eye-to-eye on whether or not New York would make the postseason.
“I can’t wait to watch them fail with Davante Adams, with all his (Rodgers’) peeps, (Allen) Lazard, all of them,” said Thomas, who projected the Jets finish 7-10 and miss the playoffs. “And then what’s the excuse going to be? I can’t wait to see that. Because all you get from this guy is excuses, which is why he makes me sick! Aaron Rodgers, you make me sick! Jets, you make me sick!”
Thomas added: “I see no way this team makes the playoffs. None.”

Balekji, on the other hand, still believes the Jets will go 9-8 and reach the postseason.
