The Jets have some reinforcements coming for their matchup with the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium on Sunday.
New York interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich confirmed Friday that pass-rusher Haason Reddick will make his team debut against the Patriots. Reddick returned to practice this week after holding out through training camp and the first two months of the season with a contract issue.
ESPN’s Rich Cimini doesn’t exactly see the two-time Pro Bowl selection’s return as a positive, calling it a “joke” in a rant on his “Flight Deck” podcast.
“Ulbrich was just raving about Reddick, how he’s fired up… this is a joke!” Cimini said. “I mean he is not here for the team. He is here for himself. He is here to get a few sacks, to improve his reputation and go into free agency in the offseason and cash in. He doesn’t give a damn about the Jets, about the uniform, about the logo, he is not emotionally invested in this team.”
New York isn’t out of the woods with injuries, however, as starting guard Alijah Vera-Tucker is expected to miss the game with an ankle injury. The Jets also ruled out safety Ashtyn Davis (concussion) and defensive lineman Leki Fotu (knee) on the defensive side of the ball.
