BOSTON — NESN on Tuesday announced details about the Bruins-themed launch of “Unobstructed Views,” a slate of alternate live telecasts available on NESN 360 and NESN+, starting with the Boston Bruins versus Dallas Stars game on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. ET
The broadcast will be hosted by NESN analyst and former Bruins goalie Andrew Raycroft alongside Bruins legends Patrice Bergeron and Tuukka Rask for all six episodes this season, one per month for the duration of the season (excluding April). The series is a continuation of NESN’s Red Sox-themed “Unobstructed Views” series featured this summer, hosted by Jared Carrabis.
About the Hosts:
- Patrice Bergeron: Recently retired, Bergeron is a Boston Bruins icon, serving as team captain from 2021 until his retirement. His two-way play earned him six Frank J. Selke Trophies, more than any player in NHL history, making him one of the greatest defensive forwards of all time during his 19-year career with the historic franchise.
- Tuukka Rask: A longtime Bruins goaltender, Rask was a key figure in Boston’s success for over a decade. Winner of the 2014 Vezina Trophy, he led the team to multiple Stanley Cup Finals, including a victory in 2011.
- Andrew Raycroft: Raycroft serves as studio analyst for Bruins coverage on NESN. Raycroft played 12 seasons in the NHL from 2000-2012. For five of those seasons, Raycroft minded the net for Boston. During his time with the Bruins, Raycroft was awarded the Calder Trophy in 2003-04, an award given to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition with the NHL.
Filmed live from NESN’s new state-of-the-art 4K studio in Watertown, Mass., “Unobstructed Views” will feature insightful discussions on hockey culture, current league trends, and analysis from NESN’s pre and postgame talent. The show will also integrate fan engagement through social media interaction, with live comments displayed on a digital social media wall inside the studio.
This innovative telecast is part of NESN’s ongoing efforts to redefine the live viewing experience. Recent initiatives include the launch of NESN 360, the first regional sports network (RSN) direct-to-consumer streaming service, 4K broadcasts, and the new “NESN View” feature that overlays real-time stats during games.
