The Patriots could be without a defensive captain Sunday.

New England on Saturday added Kyle Dugger to the Week 8 injury report due to an ankle injury. The fifth-year safety missed one game this season due to an ankle injury but played last Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Dugger was a limited participant in practice Wednesday but practiced fully the following two days.

Dugger’s addition to the injury report means the Patriots will have nine players listed as questionable for their matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk and guard Layden Robinson were ruled out for Week 8 on Friday.

New England has until 4 p.m. ET on Saturday to make practice squad elevations. Kickoff for Sunday’s matchup against the Jets at Gillette Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
