New England Patriots captain Jabrill Peppers reportedly was arrested on multiple charges including assault Saturday morning.
Peppers was arrested in Braintree, Mass., as reported by Boston 25's Ryan Breslin on Monday morning. Police said Peppers will be charged with assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, strangulation, and possession of a Class "B" substance, according to multiple reports.
NBC 10 reported the Class "B" substance is cocaine.
According to police, the 29-year-old Peppers was arrested after officers responded to a disturbance at a home following an altercation between two people. The victim was treated by emergency medical services at the scene, according to reports.

The Patriots on Monday released the following statement to multiple reporters: "We are aware of an incident involving Jabrill Peppers over the weekend in which the police are currently investigating. We will have no further comment at this time."
Peppers was voted a Patriots captain before the season started. He did not play in New England's Week 5 game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday after appearing on the injury report earlier in the week.
