The Patriots are sitting at 1-6, so there are plenty of things to talk about surrounding the team.

It’s an awkward time for the organization as a whole. Jerod Mayo took his team to task for being soft earlier this week following a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, with current and former players (and one very present former coach) taking exception publicly. Davon Godchaux and Daniel Ekuale have each called out teammates through the media, while practically every single wide receiver on the roster has taken exception with their role.

New England is a bit of a mess, but somehow one of the pressing questions on the minds of WEEI’s Adam Jones and Rich Keefe revolved around food — which they just needed to ask about in their short time with Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez on Monday.

“Was there some weird food out there that you guys were eating?” Keefe asked, which was relatively innocuous.

“Uhh… I mean, no,” Gonzalez responded, presumably just hours after departing an international flight and clearly having zero interest in talking about the cuisine of another country.

Keefe didn’t really pick up on that cue, so he pressed the 22-year-old.

“You had two sick players, and you had another player say that guys weren’t eating the right stuff. I didn’t know if you — obviously you were able to avoid whatever that was,” Keefe said.

What do you think?  Leave a comment.

Gonzalez, not enjoying how dumb the question was, and probably not liking the overall tone of the conversation, responded awkwardly.

“Y’all can go to the next question.”
