Mac Jones isn’t fondly looked upon by Patriots fans, but his New England jerseys were all over the place Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium.

Well, kind of.

Patriots Jones jerseys were big sellers back in 2021 when the Alabama product joined New England as a potential savior of the franchise. Expectations weren’t close to being met, which led to the Patriots trading Jones in March and drafting a quarterback in the first round for the second time in four years.

That signal-caller, Drake Maye, made his first NFL start in Week 6 against the Houston Texans. And Patriots fans who hung onto their Jones jerseys turned them into Maye threads with a little help of tape and markers.

Unfortunately for New England supporters, the excitement for Maye was knocked down a peg very quickly into his highly anticipated outing. The 22-year-old threw an interception on his third pass attempt of the contest.
