Patriots quarterback Drake Maye remains in concussion protocol following his departure from Sunday’s victory over the New York Jets, but he’s progressing as the club hoped he would.
Maye was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, joining a lengthy list of players that included a couple of returnees in rookie wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk (concussion) and reserve cornerback Alex Austin (ankle).
Austin was placed on injured reserve in September, with his return to practice opening up a three-week window to be added to the active roster.
New England was without linebacker Christian Elliss (abdomen), offensive tackle Vederian Lowe (ankle and shoulder) and defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy (neck). Lowe has been in and out of the lineup over the last several weeks with his ankle injury, but the shoulder ailment is a new one.
