Patriots’ Robert Kraft Sternly Issues Vow About Jabrill Peppers’ Arrest

There’s a chance Jabrill Peppers will never play another game for the New England Patriots.

Peppers currently is away from the team while he resides on the NFL’s Commissioner Exempt List. The veteran safety received the indefinite suspension from the league after he was arrested last week on several charges, including strangulation and drug possession.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft addressed those charges — and ramifications if they’re upheld in court — Friday when he appeared on “The Breakfast Club.”

“When you read the (police report) initially, it turns your stomach,” Kraft said, as transcribed by ESPN’s Mike Reiss. “Once he goes on the commissioner exempt list, they do their independent checking. We’re doing ours. If what was reported is true, he’s gone. There have been some suggestions that this was a set-up and a lot of what was reported isn’t accurate … We want to get the facts.”

Jerod Mayo was similarly stern when he spoke about Peppers’ situation last week. New England’s head coach stressed the organization’s zero-tolerance policy for domestic violence matters and understood the NFL’s approach to the investigation.

Peppers, who was named a Patriots team captain for the 2024 season, signed a three-year, $30 million contract with New England in late July.
