Ranking Six Patriots Most Likely To Be Traded Before Deadline

Can Jonathan Jones survive the deadline?

The Patriots began selling off chips Monday, trading linebacker Joshua Uche to the Kansas City Chiefs for a sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

It’s highly unlikely they’ll stop after just one.

New England has more than a few candidates to send off in the coming days, as contenders should be sniffing around to see if they can acquire pieces from around the league. It’ll be tough for executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf to make as many deals as he’d probably like. A few notable names likely will still be on the block heading into the trade deadline on Nov. 5.

Let’s rank ’em:

6. Hunter Henry

Henry has been the most consistent pass-catcher in Foxboro, Mass., over the last several years, earning him a three-year, $27 million contract this past offseason. The Patriots should be pleased with the production they’re getting to this point, too, as he’s leading them in targets (45), receptions (32) and receiving yards (358) through two months.

New England likely has zero interest in moving on from him, as he’s become a key piece for rookie quarterback Drake Maye’s development, but there’s no doubt he’s the most valuable man on this list.

The Detroit Lions shipped tight end T.J. Hockenson away a couple of years back and received a second-round selection and a pick swap for him, so it’s something to consider, especially if the Patriots get an offer they can’t refuse.

What do you think?  Leave a comment.
5. Jacoby Brissett

Brissett isn’t getting traded, and you saw why in Sunday’s win over the New York Jets.

The Patriots need a veteran backup, and they’ve got a damn good one. The Miami Dolphins have already learned the hard way what it means to be missing depth at quarterback, however, so perhaps teams like the Washington Commanders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers might want to check in on the 31-year-old.

4. Kendrick Bourne

The Patriots probably shouldn’t trade Bourne. He’s the only wide receiver on the active roster who hasn’t complained about his current role. It’s inarguable, however, that he’s the most valuable wideout on this list.

Bourne is more of a candidate to be shipped out this offseason, but perhaps a deal can be done sooner if someone knocks New England’s socks off.

3. Tyquan Thornton

Thornton isn’t getting you anything more than a conditional seventh-round pick, but he’s also probably going to be a healthy scratch moving forward. He gone.

2. K.J. Osborn

Osborn practically came out and said he wanted to be traded last week, as his first season in New England hasn’t gone the way many expected. The Patriots have found a couple of players they can work with in the receiving room (DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte) while investing heavily in others (Bourne, Ja’Lynn Polk, Javon Baker).

Osborn doesn’t have a place, so it’s better to trade him for literally anything than lose him this offseason for nothing.

1. Jonathan Jones

The Patriots only have one truly valuable trade candidate in the building, and it just so happens to be their longest-tenured defensive player.

Jones has done everything asked of him throughout his tenure, recently taking on a leadership role while also playing out of position and stepping up in the locker room. It’s almost silly to think he could be gone, but if New England wants to recoup real draft capital, it might not have a choice but to ship him off.

The Kansas City Chiefs are pretty thin at cornerback, while the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and Commanders have already been linked to the 31-year-old.
