It didn’t take long for New York Yankees fans to interject themselves in Game 4 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night.

But it wasn’t in a good way.

Two Yankees fans tried to tear off the glove of Mookie Betts when the Dodgers right fielder went into foul territory and jumped along the wall to make a catch in the bottom of the first inning. Betts secured the catch along the top of the wall in reach of fans and one fan tried to forcefully pry the ball away while the other fan grabbed Betts’ wrist.

The umpires ruled fan interference on the play as it was a terrible look for the Yankees. Both fans were ejected from the stadium.

The Yankees and their fans certainly are feeling desperate with New York trailing the Dodgers, 3-0, in the best-of-seven series.

Betts, who knows all about playing at Yankee Stadium due to his six seasons with the Boston Red Sox, has been a thorn in the side of New York throughout the World Series. He made that play along the wall and scored on Freddie Freeman’s first-inning, two-run home run after he doubled.
