Nico Collins is week-to-week
Nico Collins broke out in a massive way for the Houston Texans last season with 80 catches and nearly 1,300 yards. He led the league in receiving yards through five games this season, though it appears he will not continue that momentum in Week 6 against the New England Patriots.
The fourth-year receiver left Sunday’s 23-20 win over the Buffalo Bills with a hamstring injury. The Texans consider Collins “week-to-week” which would leave him out of the upcoming matchup with the Patriots, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter and KPRC 2 Houston’s Aaron Wilson.
Houston still has plenty of firepower offensively with another strong performance from Stroud as one of the top quarterbacks in the AFC. Meanwhile, the Patriots dropped a fourth consecutive game in disappointing fashion to an injury-riddled Miami Dolphins squad in a 15-10 defeat. The Texans come to Foxboro at 4-1 while the Patriots trend backward at 1-4 entering the AFC showdown.
Collins did not tally a catch during his one meeting against New England in his rookie campaign in 2021. The Patriots earned a comeback 25-22 victory over Houston at NRG Stadium in Week 5 of that campaign.
The Patriots and Texans kick off from Gillette Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
