Joe Kelly added another ring to his trophy case with his third career World Series championship with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2024. He won another title with the Dodgers and also beat Los Angeles with the Boston Red Sox in 2018.

The veteran right-hander finished his age-36 season off the roster while he dealt with a right shoulder sprain that kept him off the mound when the Dodgers finished off the New York Yankees in the World Series.

Kelly already put together a productive career with successful seasons on the mound and a trio of championships. He’s certainly near the end of his run, but he’s not ready to close it out just yet.

The ex-Red Sox reliever told WEEI’s Rob Bradford on the “Baseball Isn’t Boring” podcast that he will not retire with the conclusion of the 2024 season. Kelly posted a 4.78 ERA in 32 innings while striking out just under 10 batters per nine innings for the Dodgers this year.

Kelly enters this winter as a free agent. Will the Red Sox pursue a reunion to add another hard-throwing right-hander to the bullpen for 2025?
