Kurt Warner loved what he saw from Drake Maye in Week 11.
Maye’s fourth-quarter interception sealed a Patriots loss to the Rams on Sunday afternoon, but the rookie quarterback otherwise was very good at Gillette Stadium. Maye completed 30 of his 40 pass attempts for 282 yards with two touchdowns and added 27 yards on the ground. The 22-year-old helped keep New England competitive in a game where it had very few answers for Los Angeles’ offense.
Warner was dialed into the Super Bowl LIII rematch, and he offered a glowing review of Maye after the 28-22 verdict.
“The game that #DrakeMaye played today was the 3rd best rookie QB performance I have seen all year (the other 2 were by #JaydenDaniels)!!!” Warner posted to X. “Saw the field, made the throws, anticipated, threw it away when needed to and made some off schedule plays when nothing was there!! #Impressive.”
The Patriots obviously aren’t going to make the playoffs, so this campaign in New England remains all about development and setting the tone for the future. Maye continues to do his part on that front and his accelerated ascent appears to be inspiring teammates.

The 22-year-old will try to add another great performance to his log Sunday when the Patriots visit the Miami Dolphins, who still are fighting for a postseason spot after back-to-back wins.
