Tom Brady continues the next chapter of his football life with Kevin Burkhardt as the No. 1 NFL broadcast tandem for FOX Sports. He hasn’t called a game with the New England Patriots yet, though that will potentially come when the team returns to competitive levels.
The 47-year-old continues to make strides in the first season of his megadeal with FOX. Brady does have some familiar faces around the network with former Patriots teammates Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman contributing to pregame coverage.
Gronkowski paid close attention to Brady’s evolution in the booth and how he can further develop before gaining the call with Burkhardt on FOX for Super Bowl LIX.
“It’s really cool, I love seeing Tom out there,” Gronkowski told reporters before “The Tradition” Wednesday night at TD Garden. “The guy has made tremendous improvement from Week 1 to Week 11. That’s Tom for you. Whatever the guy’s gonna do he’s gonna succeed in. He starts off a little rocky, but anyone’s gonna start off rocky when it’s your first time in history ever doing something and putting it all out on the line in front of millions of people.”
Gronkowski continued: “He’s just grown tremendously like you’ve never seen before. That’s Tom’s work ethic. That kind of translates, that’s how he was on the football field. If he messed up, he would figure out how to get the job done in the meeting room, see what he did, make the correction and go back out on the practice field to develop as a player and not make the same mistakes. If he just carries what he did on the football field and in meetings to the next phase of his life, he’s going to be a complete success. He’s dominating more and more throughout the week.”
