The Boston Red Sox reportedly are “in” on free agent Teoscar Hernández.
ESPN’s Jeff Passan on Tuesday published a wide-ranging MLB offseason preview and reported the Red Sox, while not the favorite to sign the outfielder, are among teams interested.
“The Dodgers are the favorites to bring him back where he thrived in 2024,” Passan wrote. “Boston is in. So is Baltimore. And the Yankees want him if (Juan) Soto doesn’t come back, though he could have already signed by the time New York knows where it stands with Soto.”

Hernández desires at least a three-year deal, Passan wrote.
The 32-year-old slugger was named an MLB All-Star in 2024 and is a two-time Silver Slugger. Hernández hit 33 home runs with 99 RBIs and slashed .272/.339/.501 during the regular season. He batted .250 with three home runs and 12 RBIs in 16 postseason games during LA’s World Series triumph.

Boston might not have to wait much longer on Hernández as Passan believes he will be one of the first “big names” off the board.
MLB Network’s Jon Morosi previously reported the Red Sox are interested in Hernández and ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez views Boston as a realistic possibility.
