Sports talk radio icon Mike Francesa eviscerated the New York Jets after a loss to the Patriots a few weeks ago. Well-known Barstool Sports podcaster Dan “Big Cat” Katz took the same route after his beloved Chicago Bears were dominated by New England at Soldier Field on Sunday.
In a season where laughs and fun have been hard to come by, Patriots fans surely will find comedic relief in Katz’s postgame agony.
“I mean, I had a feeling this could happen, so it didn’t hurt as much,” Katz said on Barstool’s “Pardon My Take” podcast released Monday morning.
“Everything is a disaster. The Bears are a joke of an organization. Caleb Williams looks really, really bad. (Offensive coordinator) Shane Waldron is a joke. (Head coach) Matt Eberflus needs to get fired. They’re just as bad – there’s been some really bad Bears offenses. They have somehow reached a new low that – I said during the game, I was like, ‘Instead of waterboarding in Guantanamo, if you just made a terrorist watch the Bears offense on repeat they would tell every secret they’ve ever had.’ That’s how bad we are.”
The coaching job by Eberflus and his staff no doubt was one of the biggest takeaways from the 19-3 verdict. Jerod Mayo’s staff coached circles around those in the Windy City.

But the fact Drake Maye outperformed Caleb Williams, who was selected No. 1 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, also caught plenty of attention.
“It’s all bad,” Katz said. “Listen, I am an optimist at heart so I’ll be like maybe Caleb Williams will turn it around with a new coaching staff. But right now he’s by far the worst rookie and nothing works and he looks completely lost and everything sucks. Everyone was right. I was wrong. I’m stupid. And it sucks. I don’t know what else to say.
“I know people are going to be like, ‘You have to admit,’ — I admit everything. That I’ve been wrong about everything. And everything is terrible.”
It could always be worse, Patriots fans.
