Drake Maye turned heads with his acrobatic touchdown pass to Rhamondre Stevenson sent the New England Patriots to overtime against the Tennessee Titans.
New England may not have gotten the win against the Titans, but multiple Patriots pass-catchers believed that play confirmed what a special talent they have.
Hunter Henry told reporters he had a front-row seat o the play and called it “special.”
“Guy’s special, man,” Henry told reporters, per team-provided video. “The way he competes, the way he plays, the way he continues to fight. I’m excited to continue to go out there and continue to play with him. He’s very special. He’s got a lot of talent. He’s only going to get better, learn from those situations, learn from those experiences. Proud of him, proud of his fight.”
Kendrick Bourne added: “Drake making that impressive, long-sustained play, was impressive. … A good drive, encouraging drive, to show us who’s playing hard and where we need to keep growing.”

Even Maye’s defensive teammates sang his praises after the energizing moment for the Patriots.
“That’s Drake,” Christian Gonzalez told reporters, per team-provided video. “Nobody was surprised. Honestly, Drake does stuff like that all the time. He fought and did all he could. Proud of him and happy for him.”
Maye and the Patriots face a fellow rookie in Week 10 when they visit Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears.
