The Bruins face the Ottawa Senators on Saturday, which sets up what could be a memorable night.
Linus Ullmark projects to be in net opposite Jeremy Swayman. It will be the first time Boston faces Ullmark since it traded him last offseason. Swayman had nothing but respect for his former teammate, and the feeling of the upcoming reunion was the same for the Senators netminder.
“It’s going to be fun, interesting, a lot of emotions, but I feel that it’s going to be sort of a forever memory,” Ullmark told reporters Friday, per Amalie Benjamin of NHL.com.
Swayman and Ullmark remain “brothers for life” despite the trade that split them apart. Head coach Jim Montgomery revealed Friday he still texts former players like Ullmark, who is expected to get a warm reception from the TD Garden crowd.
The Bruins and Senators need a win Saturday night, but Swayman left the door open for fans to see one last goalie hug with Ullmark.
