Boston Bruins winger Brad Marchand got the last laugh against Paul Bissonnette.

After Marchand absolutely roasted the NHL analyst last week, the two had another hilarious interaction Wednesday night prior to Boston’s 4-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks at United Center.

The two exchanged verbal barbs before Bissonnette issued a challenge to the Bruins captain of notching two points plus a power-play to lift a “Mr. TNT” suspension.

Bissonnette shouldn’t have poked Marchand. The veteran forward, armed with extra motivation, netted two goals just 2:05 apart in the second period much to the dismay of Bissonnette.

“I was excited when those two went in,” Marchand said, as seen on TNT postgame coverage. “I knew I had something to rub in.”

Marchand’s first tally came off a terrific feed from David Pastrnak. Bissonnette tried to use that to his advantage, asking Marchand what it was like to play alongside someone like Pastrnak who “literally does everything and you do nothing.” Marchand fired back a terrific response.

“It feels great. It’s whatever it takes,” Marchand said. “I know you haven’t had that opportunity, but it feels good. I don’t mind riding coattails, just like you rode (Ryan) Whit(ney)’s coattails all the way to ‘Spittin’ Chicklets.'”

The Bruins star then mockingly mimicked Bissonnette.

“Hey Whit, can you start a podcast with me, please? I need something to do,” Marchand said.

Marchand can trash-talk with the best of them and the two of them certainly like cracking jokes at the other’s expense.

It seems like a good outlet for the 36-year-old to do so, since he alluded that he cut back on the on-ice chirps after being named Bruins captain prior to the 2023-24 season.

“It’s a fun part of the game that I miss nowadays,” Marchand said. “It doesn’t happen enough. Back when we played against each other it was all the time. It was every shift. And that’s part of the game that was always a lot of fun to do, one I didn’t want to give up. But it’s great that some of the other stuff came along, too.”
