The Boston Bruins were without star forward David Pastrnak during practice at Warrior Ice Arena on Monday.
Pastrnak is reportedly dealing with some bumps and bruises, according to Bruins interim head coach Joe Sacco.
“He’s dealing with an upper-body issue, so we held him off today,” Sacco told reporters, per team-provided video. “He’s going to be traveling with us. We’re hopeful that he’s ready tomorrow. We’ll see how he presents tomorrow.”
Sacco added the Bruins are not calling up an extra forward as the club heads out west for a five-game road trip.
Pastrnak logged just under 24 minutes of ice time and fed Pavel Zacha the puck for the game-winning goal during Boston’s overtime win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, so it’s unclear when any type of injury might have occurred.

Tyler Johnson filled in for Pastrnak during practice on a line with Zacha and Morgan Geekie, according to The Athletic’s Fluto Shinzawa.
The Bruins are 7-2-0 since Sacco took over behind the bench. Boston will look to build on its four-game winning streak when they take on the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night. Puck drop from Canada Life Centre is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET, and you can watch the game on NESN following an hour of pre-game coverage.
