Juan Soto kicked off the MLB offseason in historic fashion with a massive free-agent contract with the New York Mets. Sure, he didn’t choose the Red Sox, but Boston should feel great that he didn’t return to the New York Yankees.
David Ortiz sure does.
The Red Sox legend went to work in the comment section of Soto’s latest Instagram post of a highlight reel from his introductory press conference with the Mets at Citi Field last week. Ortiz went back to his bread-and-butter with his latest chirp of the Yankees.
“The ……. Yankees lose,” Ortiz posted with two “crying laughing” emojis.
The Yankees already heard plenty from Ortiz during the World Series when they fell in five games to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Failing to re-sign their generational outfielder certainly gave Ortiz more material, even with the Red Sox missing out on a surprise run to the negotiations.
