How Jerod Mayo Handled Questions About Viral Jonathan Kraft Clip

Jerod Mayo apparently didn’t see the viral clip everyone else did.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft and his son, Jonathan Kraft, were caught on the CBS broadcast during the first half of Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. Their frustrations in the owner’s box were clear, and it appeared Jonathan referred to the offensive play calling as “terrible.”

Patriots fans and lip-readers went to town after the clip surfaced.

Mayo, however, claims he doesn’t know anything about it.

“I haven’t seen anything like that, so I’m not sure what you’re talking about,” Mayo said during a video conference Monday morning. “What I will say is they’ve been fully supportive of us as a team, and look, they’re huge fans of the team they own. So whatever they say, that’s what they said.”

Mayo said much of the same when he appeared on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show.”

“I’m not gonna, you know, get into what they said. I didn’t see the clip. I heard about it this morning,” Mayo told the radio station. “But look, they own the football team. They’re fans of the team, and they have supported us 100% on the football side of not really getting involved in that stuff, which has been good.”

If Robert and Jonathan Kraft were taking shots at the offensive side of the ball, they weren’t alone. Mayo threw shade at offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt immediately after the game in comments he’s since walked back. Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte also took aim at Van Pelt for his game-plan and decision-making.
