Juan Soto is the catalyst for nearly every big move remaining this offseason. The Boston Red Sox, the New York Mets and the New York Yankees among other teams are still waiting to learn where the generational hitter will take his talents next season.

The question now is when will that consequential news drop? This week? This weekend? At the Winter Meetings?

SNY’s Andy Martino presented his latest insight on the schedule that could lead to Soto signing sooner rather than later, bringing news to one happy fanbase and allowing other organizations to pivot.

“That’s the expectation,” Martino shared on “Mets Hot Stove” Tuesday night. “… Everyone I talk to who’s involved in this at any level believes that the news will drop this week, before Dallas.”

The Mets, SNY’s team for RSN coverage, remain arguably the favorite to land Soto after months of speculation, though multiple Northeast teams are well in the final conversations to sign the superstar outfielder.
