Keion White bluntly called for change Saturday, but he wasn’t the only Patriot who voiced such a desire after New England’s latest loss.
DeMario Douglas sang a similar tune after the Los Angeles Chargers cruised to a 40-7 win at Gillette Stadium. Like White, Douglas has seen very little success since he arrived in Foxboro, Mass. as a 2023 draft pick. Should New England drop its season finale next weekend, it will seal a combined 7-27 combined record over the last two seasons.
Douglas is one of the most outwardly positive players in the Patriots locker room, but even he couldn’t contain his frustration after New England didn’t show up in Week 17.
“We should go into next year, like, ‘Man, we dislike losing.’ I dislike losing,” Douglas told reporters. “For two years, I’ve been losing. I feel like it’s time to make a change. We got some pieces. We’ll add more pieces next year. I feel like we can come out and do something, you know? I’m trying to be in the playoffs. I’m trying to go for a run and have a winning season. I’m just tired of losing, for real.”
Neither Douglas nor White pointed to specific areas where they would like changes. However, it might be in the players’ best interest for the turnover to include coaching, as Jerod Mayo and his staff have done little to inspire optimism about the franchise’s future.

But as Douglas mentioned, the Patriots will need to improve their roster if they want to level up in 2025.
