Teoscar Hernández has made plenty of headlines since the conclusion of the Juan Soto sweepstakes.
Hernández reportedly has gained interest from the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox — all three who came up short in the competition for Soto, who reportedly agreed to a 15-year deal with the New York Mets.
The Dodgers have been viewed as the favorite for Hernández after he won a World Series in LA this season. But a report from ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez on Sunday night indicates the Dodgers might not be able to come to terms with the two-time MLB All-Star.
“The Dodgers and Hernández have been in negotiations for the past few weeks but have been unable to bridge the gap, sources familiar with the process have said,” Gonzalez reported Sunday night.

That’s good news for other teams vying for Hernández, specifically the Red Sox.

Boston remains very much in the mix, according to multiple reports. MLB Network’s Jon Morosi believes the Red Sox have a legitimate shot of signing Hernández while MassLive’s Chris Cotillo and Sean McAdam referred to the slugger as an expected “fallback option.”
Additional reports serving as good news for the Red Sox? Hernández “long been intrigued” by the idea of playing at Fenway Park and is a fan of Alex Cora.
