BOSTON — Patrice Bergeron was among many Boston Bruins legends on hand to close out the franchise’s historic centennial season at TD Garden on Sunday.

The six-time Selke winner admitted before the game that there’s a piece of him that wishes he was on the ice for the Bruins’ milestone game against the Montreal Canadiens.

It may not be an NHL game, but Bergeron will put on the Spoked-B for the Boston Bruins Alumni Association in a highly anticipated matchup with the Warrior for Life Fund on Saturday night at Warrior Ice Arena.

The Bruins Alumni lineup includes 2011 Stanley Cup champions Bergeron, Zdeno Chara, David Krejci, Mark Recchi, Dennis Seidenberg, Johnny Boychuk, Shawn Thornton, Gregory Campbell, Adam McQuaid, Tuukka Rask, Andrew Ference, Chris Kelly and Tim Thomas.

For Bergeron, it’s more than just lacing up his skates and getting on the ice again with his former teammates — it’s about spending time with the guys.

“It’s going to be amazing,” Bergeron said. “It’s going to be a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to that. We have a little group chat going, and it seems like the boys are excited to get back in town, grab a little dinner the night before. It’ll be nice to just talk about memories and just catch up on life.

“Life goes fast, and sometimes it’s important to take that time to connect with some of the guys that you create something so special with. So, that’ll be the perfect opportunity for it. Hopefully, we can get on the ice before then and make sure we stretch out the legs and nobody pulls anything.”

The 2011 champions will be joined by retired NHL players who played for the Bruins during their careers — Kevan Miller, Andrew Alberts, PJ Stock, Mark Mowers, Bryan Smolinski and Tim Schaller.
